Palos Verdes Schools make up one of the largest districts in Los Angeles County. The PVPUSD or Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District, has three preschools, twelve elementary schools, three intermediate schools, and three high schools under its jurisdiction. More than 11,500 students are receiving education in the district’s schools. P.V. Estates boasts of a high standard of living and great educational facilities. Many families have moved here for these reasons.

Cornerstone @ Pedregal Elementary School
The school was honored as a California Distinguished School in 2004. It is also one among 20 schools across the nation in 2004 to be felicitated by the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence, and it has received the title of Lighthouse School.
More than 390 students are enrolled here. In 2012, the school earned the highest API score of 974 among all schools in the district. The school is known for its active Parent Teacher Association. The association was awarded an Intel School of Distinction Award in 2004.

Point Vincente Elementary School
This school has more than 385 students. The school earned an API score of 946 in 2012. The school has a vibrant music program, and students can learn chorus, strings, and woodwind instruments. The core curriculum, common to all elementary schools in the district, includes language arts, mathematics, visual and performing arts, foreign language, science, laboratory work, and more.

Silver Spur Elementary School
Silver Spur Elementary School has been running for more than 50 years. It was honored as a California Distinguished School in 2006 and 2010. More than 527 students are enrolled in the school. The school achieved a high API score of 969 in 2012.

Soleado Elementary School
Soleado Elementary School is the latest entrant to the California Distinguished School club in the district, a distinction it received in 2011-2012. Around 419 students are enrolled in the school, and it has achieved an API score of 949.

Miraleste Intermediate
The school was started in 1969 and serves students from 6th grade to 8th grade. There are more than 950 students in the school. The school has a strong student-to-teacher ratio of 22-1 and has high academic standards. Students can engage in a number of extra curricular activities such as drama club, Jazz band, choir, flag team, guitar club, and more. There are several sporting activities here such as water polo, lacrosse, basketball, soccer, softball, and others.

Palos Verdes High School
This school was started in 1961 and is one of the oldest high schools in the district. More than 1800 students are enrolled here. There are 27 Advanced Placement courses and 12 honors courses at this school. Students receive instruction in English, foreign language, science, mathematics, visual and performing arts, and social science.

Students can also take courses at the Palos Verdes Institute of Technology. If you want your children to gain international exposure, enroll them in the Palos Verdes International Diploma program.
There are also many private schools in the district, such as Chadwick School, Lunada Bay Elementary, and others.
