Thai New Year, also known as Songkran, is celebrated in Thailand as the traditional New Year’s Day from April 13th to the 15th. Ayara Thai Cuisine, located in Westchester, will be featuring street food specialties every weekend in April to celebrate the Thai New Year.
In consecutive order, Ayara Thai will be serving Khao Man Gai (April 4-6), Roti (April 11-13), Goong Pow (April 18-20), and Khao Moo Dang (April 25-27).
Khao Man Gai
Cleaver-flattened pieces of chicken served with rice and a ginger garlic sauce.
Roti
This unleavened flatbread is normally served with cooked vegetables or curries.
Goong Pow
Whole Grilled Shrimp served with the entire shell served with Ayara’s Thai Chili-Lime Sauce made with
fresh Thai chili, garlic, lime juice, and fish sauce.
Khao Moo Dang
BBQ Pork, Crisp Pork Belly and Chinese Sausage with a Pickled Plum Sauce, Lemongrass and Rice.
