With an astounding view of the marina, classy ambiance, fantastic service and delicious food, 22nd Street Landing is one of my favorite South Bay Restaurants. This San Pedro hideaway is conveniently situated close to Crafted, the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, 22nd Street Park and the Cabrillo Marina.
I have been dinning at this restaurant for seven years now. On my latest trip there I was celebrating my birthday with my family. I was promptly seated by a window overlooking the harbor where I got the pleasure of watching the sunset. The staff was very inviting and my food was served quickly. I savored a creamy bowl of lobster bisque while watching the sea lions play and the sun setting on the ocean. It was a perfect relaxing and romantic evening.
One of the highlights of the restaurant is the amazing view of the marina. Sea lions love to frolic amidst the boats and several species of birds can be seen in flight. I especially enjoy going here to dine in the evening so I can watch the pinks, yellows and reds color the sky as the sun sets and seeing them dance in the water while I relish my food. The stunning scenery makes this a very romantic place to bring a date or someone special.
Huge arched windows run along one side, giving the place a very bright and breezy atmosphere. Balcony seating is also an option, and can be very pleasant in the warm summer months. Décor is simple, yet classy with dark wood furniture, old photographs of the local area, and white linin. Separated from the main dinning room by a half wall, is a stylish cocktail area reminiscent of San Francisco. It is the type of restaurant that you go to if you want to relax and savor a meal rather than rushing through the dining experience. It can also be a cool place to grab a martini and some calamari with some friends.
Seafood Bar and Grill
The menu features fresh sea food, delicious surf and turf dishes, and pastas. I have eaten in the restaurant many times with various groups of people and never once has anyone complained about their food. My favorite item on the menu is the creamy lobster bisque with tender chunks of lobster swimming in it. The calamari is another customer favorite and is always crispy without being rubbery.
They have a full bar and a variety of wine options to complement your meal and please the pallet. If you have children, you’ll be impressed by the fact that they put grilled fish on the kids menu. Most places seem to limit the kids to chicken fingers or macaroni and cheese. Their food is both affordable and delicious. The only downside to the menu is that there are so many phenomenal dishes, and you’ll have a hard time deciding what to order! No doubt you’ll leave fully satisfied and content.
The intimate and tranquil atmosphere makes it the perfect location for any special event. 22nd Street landing offers many options for those looking to celebrate or for business meetings. A semi-private, quiet cocktail area is separated from the main dining area by a half wall. As a meeting venue you’ll find it quiet enough to discuss business. There is also a large banquet room with a private patio that can accommodate up to 70 people and would be an amazing place for a wedding reception or bridal shower.
